Medical Informatics New York is a educational and professional organization of physician medical informaticists that seeks to:
- Advance the role of the physician informaticist as a leader of clinical information system initiatives at New York-area medical centers
- Advance the role of medical informatics as a tool to improve the delivery of clinical care and support national efforts for the electronic health record
- Facilitate collaboration among colleagues to develop best practices
- Develop and maintain the relationship between New York-area physician informatics leaders and between such leaders and local and national societies
- Share ideas and exchange experiences between New York-area physician informatics lead
